Imagine

The morning sun streams through the gums. The air is clear and crisp. A kookaburra sings in the bush.

It's hard to believe you're only 25 minutes from Sydney.

You're standing on the tee of the famous 16th hole with a group of very important clients.

Ahead of you, a dam protects the slightly elevated faiway. It's a challenging drive, but you go for it.

Now, your second shot has to carry a rocky creek just short of the well-bunkered green...

Welcome to Pymble Golf Club

Pymble Golf Club can provide your company with a relaxed and sophisticated environment designed to assist with the development of business relationships and client entertainment.

Enjoy a day of friendly competition with your colleagues and clients either before or after a fully catered lunch and/or dinner at our renowned Clubhouse.

As one of Sydney's top Group 1 courses, Pymble was established in 1924 and is now one of the city's most prominent private golf clubs.

Located in St Ives, just off Mona Vale Road, we are only 25 minutes from the CBD.

Winding through magnificent gums and native bush and flanked by grand stately homes, the course is a truly memorable venue for your Corporate entertaining.

Every hole at Pymble offers a unique golf experience, one your clients and guests will remember and talk about long after the day is done.

Entertain in style

The wide balconies and terraces of our Clubhouse are a wonderful place to wind down after your round and enjoy sweeping views over the course as the late afternoon sun sets through the tall gums.

Having undergone an extensive refurbishment, The Clubhouse is the perfect setting for any event, from informal breakfasts and barbecues to formal cocktail parties or dinners.

Let us make your event memorable

Our House Manager and friendly and experienced staff will ensure that your Corporate Day at Pymble Golf Club will be very special.

From planning through to the actual event day, our team will ensure all arrangements are precisely what you desire so you and your team enjoy your event as much as your guests and clients.

Tee options

A wide choice of tee-off options are available at Pymble.

Our course is divided into three loops of six holes and our members find a three-tee start to be a convenient way to play the course, with all players finishing their game within approximately one hour of each other.

We also have other tees close to the Clubhouse so that a five tee start is also possible.

However, the most popular format for Corporate Days is a shotgun start and the course can accommodate 120 players comfortably with this type of start.

We find that an Ambrose event is popular on Corporate Days, however, if your guests are regular golfers you may prefer single or fourball events.

Novelty events such as "nearest the pins", "longest drive", "straightest drive" and chipping competitions are well catered for.

Our staff can assist you in deciding the most appropriate format for you.

We are available to assist with every aspect of your corporate golf day, including player briefings, the conducting of clinics by our professionals, starting of the field, marshalling, scoring, "nearest to the pin" and long drive competitions.

Equipment and promotional items

Drinks cart, electric carts as well as a professional shop stocking a wide range of products from recognised brands, hire clubs, hire shoes and a range of special prize options are also available to meet your needs.

We also have a catalogue of promotional items you can select from to provide a special welcome pack for your guests or clients. Our golf scorecard can be specially printed to feature your logo or those of your sponsors.

Course usage and Set-up

Typically a Corporate Day takes five hours to play. You will need to take this into account in considering the timing of meeting your guests and planning meals et cetera.

Play on the course can commence from 8.00am and we have practice nets, a putting green and a green where players can practice their bunker and chip shots.

The course can be set up to suit the standard of play of the participants. You will need to decide on what type of start will suit your day best.

Depending on numbers, you can start from up to five tees, or perhaps a shotgun would be best if you have a large number of players. We can assist you in making this decision.

Your event

Most Corporate Days hold an Ambrose event where all players in the group hit each shot and the best shot is used until the ball is holed out. Even beginners can enjoy the game and achieve the odd birdie!

It is best to try to have at least one competent golfer in each group to be the "team captain" who can make decisions as to which ball to take and also to keep the field moving.

If your day has mostly competent players, perhaps an "Irish Four-ball" or even a single Stableford with a four-ball in conjunction may appeal.

We can assist you in deciding the best event for you.

Catering

Pymble has a wide range of food and beverage options, and our catering reputation has been built over many years on the provision of quality fresh produce, prepared innovatively by our team of professional chefs and complemented by our highly trained serving staff.

You will be able to sit back and enjoy yourself knowing every detail has been covered.

Food and beverage options can be tailored to suit your requirements and pricing structure, and as a guide we can provide sample menus for you to select from.

Remember, we can do almost anything to suit you.

Promotional assistance

We understand that your event is being held to assist in promoting your organisation to your clients so we will do our best to assist you in this endeavour.

While you should feel free to use your own promotional products, we have a range of products you can choose from and we can prepare or assist you in preparing promotional packs for you.

We have no objection to the use of promotional signage or banners and our staff are available to place them on the course, in the Clubhouse or in the car park.

We would like to know what is required and would like your material to be available on the Friday prior so all will be ready for your big day.

Our professional staff

Our golf professional, Ian Paul, and his experienced, friendly staff will be on hand to assist you and your clients.

They are available to assist with starting the field, providing clinics or coaching and are expert at checking score cards, finalising competitions and preparing results sheets.

They also operate the golf shop which has a wide range of golf-related products, clubs, balls, tees and clothing.

Golf carts, battery-operated buggies, pull buggies, golf sets and golf shoes are all available for hire.

It is best if we know in advance what the hire requirements are so we are set to go on the day.

No last minute hitches!

Dress rules and mobile phones

Like all private golf clubs, we like to maintain our standards, and with golf being a very traditional sport, the dress of participants needs to comply with our rules.

On the course we require traditional golfing attire, which is not draconian.

In the Clubhouse we expect smart casual attire to be worn. The modern trend of boat shoes without socks is not considered appropriate and blue denim is also not permitted to be worn in the Clubhouse.

While realising that mobile phones are an important part of our lives these days, we request that they not be used inside the Clubhouse or on the golf course.

If any transgressions of our guidelines by your guests do occur we will, of course, handle them diplomatically.

Wet weather

Our guarantee to you is that if our course becomes unplayable due to heavy rain or it is dangerous due to lightning, your day can be rescheduled. However, as golf can be played in inclement weather, the guarantee won't apply if the weather is merely "unpleasant". The players will just have to don their wet weather gear, or retire to the comfort of the Clubhouse.

Holes-in-one and other prizes

Pymble Golf Club is obliged, under the Rules of Amateur Status endorsed by Golf Australia, to ensure that prizes are not given to amateur golfers with a value exceeding $1200. If you wish to issue such a prize which exceeds this figure, please discuss this with the Club.
